My Summary:

To stop her best friend Chad from making the biggest mistake of his life by marrying a gold digging woman, Amelia kidnaps him on his wedding day.  With no specific plans, she whisks him off to a God forsaken place which they accidentally set on fire and thus preventing them from going anywhere else.  In the end, Amelia herself is forced to marry Chad by both their grandfathers, who happen to be best friends themselves.

Chad was never one for adventure.  He believes that every single thing in life has to be planned and strictly followed.  That goes for love too, which he believes can only destroy people.  Case in Point, his father who became a drunk after being abandoned by his wife (Chad's mother). So he vows never to fall in love and trust only one woman, his childhood best friend Amelia, even if she is his total opposite.

Resigned to being married, they both carry on with their lives, thinking that after a few months, they could just divorce and resume their own normal.  But what has been set in motion many years before can’t be stopped, only pushed in the right direction.  With meddling grandfathers and helpful siblings and friends, what could possibly go wrong?

My Review:

Adorable with a big dose of sweet, reading this book is like a quick trip to a Romance themed park.  It is fast paced and steady yet believable with bits of the couple's history in between.  There was no feeling of abruptness at all, which is the usual case in friends-to-lovers storylines in fiction. 

I like that though Chad and Amelia have been best friends since childhood, they are never on the same page.  They are total opposites and have very different beliefs and philosophy in life.  The only thing they have for each other is basic: LOVE.  And from there everything else works.  This gives hope to the romantic in me.  That maybe in the grand scheme of things, the only thing you truly need is Love.....and maybe some meddling but charming granddaddies.

If you're looking for a short fun read that's predictable yet well written enough to be easily enjoyed, pick up Stealing the Groom.
